Flagholt

These photos taken of the Golf Course in Ramsey in January 2021 after the Bury Brook overflowed its banks during heavy flooding of the local area. This area was in the 1800’s known as Flagholt and is mentioned in the Vestry Minutes of 1849. This was where a dam was constructed to keep the Bury Brook back, while the river through the Town was cleaned out. Of course back then there was no Golf Course to worry about, this area would have been a local flood plain.
