Mr Allen was the main Architect for the Ramsey Tunnel Construction he is shown in the 1851 Census aged 22 and Married, living in St Ives.  He was also responsible for the design and building of the original Police Station in the Town, this is the building which now houses the TSB Bank.

Below are some plan drawings for the Great Whyte Ramsey, by the Architect Mr Allen, dated 1852.  The four sectional plans shown, are on one big plan which is about 6ft long in total. These are the only surviving drawings that I know of, I have a copy and I believe the other copy is in the Huntingdonshire  Library Archives. Unfortunately they are not a complete set some sectional drawings are missing!
